Sampson is son of A. E. WILSON and Mary Jane MULLIS, and grandson of David WILSON and Mary "Polly" WITT of Parke County, IN, formerly Knox County, KY).

Sampson David Wilson was born Dec. 14, 1863, near Greencastle, Ind., and departed this life on Monday, Oct. 21, 1935, at the age of 71 years, 1 months and 7 days.

He came to Kansas in the year of 1871, locating at Randall. He was married on Dec. 26 1886 to Miss Etta Jackson, who with one daughter, Mrs. Tommie HART, survive. He also leaves three grandchildren, Jerald, Marjorie, and Betty Hart. Four sisters, Mrs. Susan ESPELUND and Mrs. Malinda CUNNINGHAM of Randall, Kans., and Mrs. Ella KELSO of Oxnard, Calif., and Mrs. Bertha ISHMAEL of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and one brother, Mr. Joseph WILSON, of Firr, Wash.

He and his wife moved to Beloit, Kans., in the year of 1909, where he was engaged as night-watchman for several years. He also served as an inspector on the first paving laid in Beloit.

Mr. Wilson was a rather quiety and unassuming gentleman who was held in high regard by the people of Beloit and community. He was a member of the Beloit Baptist church and was always faithful at the services of his church when his health permitted.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. William Little at the Baptist church in Beloit on Wednesday afternoon at 2 p. m., assisted by Brother Charles L. Thornton of Wichita, Kans., a dear friend of Mr. Wilson. He was laid to rest in the Wallace cemetery east of Jewell City.
